What do you call a crazy Spaceman? – – A Astronut.
What follows is an almost word for word online version of my book WEIRD © 1986 eschatology: an alternative view of the return (ISBN 0-9616435-0-1; Library of Congress Call Number BT823.M55 1986). By the time you finish this, you may notice that this particular peculiar interpretation of the Book of Revelation should the teachings of the self-styled cranks, spinners, prophets of doom and various other miscellaneous fanatics are banished. But maybe, so you can create your own View clear when you read this. The first chapter deals with theology and may be slightly blunt, but strap yourself in, as I more and more funny before (in terms have any interpretation that you have seen before). CHAPTER ONE
A plausible SCHEDULE
Are you a Christian? Do you believe in the Second Coming at a later date? Is it legitimate to construct schedules for these future events?
Rhetorical questions like these can scare immediately comfortable. A big problem is that there is no consensus on when and in what order these predicted events must take place. This topic has always been a particular source of division and controversy. I will suggest specific dates have as many in every generation before me. And how many have before me, I may be rebutted by the mere passage of time.
The view of the majority of most evangelicals occurs is pretribulational premillennalism, which I agree in part. I want to point out that a part of this view is in fact based on a historical novelty that only traces back until the nineteenth century. What I mean here that, in relation to the movement of a snail's pace of Theology (remember that the canon was completed about two thousand years), is the majority view is a relatively new innovation.
I prefer a distinctly minority position, what would you be with several postmillennialism ecstasy. The postmillennial Position holds that many of the predictions made in the New Testament, including those of the Olivet Discourse (Matt. 24, Mark 13, Luke 21) were in the early Christian Era reached, and to limit the performance of their past is to be expected that future events. There is a school, by, for example, Max King and Timothy James holds that each and every prophecy was of the entire New Testament, completed in the early church years. However, I believe this view neglects proper consideration of the Book of Revelation.
Postmillennialism is sometimes known as Preterism, which means that, the text to speak without exegesis implies mentioned. So when Jesus repeatedly predicted the Kingdom within a generation, I do not write off the statement as false or more than thrilled. Instead, I prefer a schedule showing that the Kingdom at the beginning a generation after the crucifixion. Then, as John of Patmos, says the Millennium begins on that date for the beginning of the Kingdom, I duly go my table (at the end of this chapter) and set the Millennial Clock is ticking. It was indeed a specific date and a generation after the crucifixion – The crucial date of AD 70. This was the historic date of the Fall of Jerusalem, who is not particularly prominent date in more mainstream discussions. This is the date of the first resurrection in the terminology of John of Patmos, that the Millennium begins.
What happened in AD 70? After a long siege by the Roman legions sacked Jerusalem was and razed to the ground. To the secular eye, as Josephus in the Jewish war detailed in bloody detail, was not even the scene of a weapons of mass destruction in which the temple was spared. But to the mind's eye, as Russell's Parousia more than a century ago showed these events were the fulfillment of the Olivet Discourse and the return dedicate to Jesus and his armies conquered in the clouds the mental domination with the saints and martyrs. Other sources in the bibliography, including Chilton's Paradise listed RESTORED marry this view. Chilton nominated Jerusalem as the Whore of Babylon and Rome as the Beast. (Recorded 2006 Note: In 1986 I followed my schedule Chilton. I have reversed, since my opinion. I see now how the whore Jerusalem and Rome as the Beast.)
I must pause a moment to the question of the dating of the Book of Revelation to be considered. The currently accepted date for the publication of the book of Revelation is 1995 AD. Is this the right time, the fulfillment of the predictions made so far would be only a matter of fact. I recommend John AT Robinson's study of this question in Redating the New Testament. Robinson cites extensive internal and external Evidence for the movement of the time of Revelation back to the AD 70 time frame. He also feels the standard back-95 AD view to a single source. This source is a statement of Irenaeus that the Apocalypse first appeared to rule "at the end of Domitian." This statement is unambiguous and can be confused only be. Other sources in the bibliography (including Chilton and James included) to accept at an earlier date.
The Book of Revelation is a substantial enhancement of the previous Gospels and Epistles. Here the concept of the Millennium is introduced for the first and only time. The timetable presented by John of Patmos extends forward into the future Judgement Day and the establishment of the New Jerusalem, which the New Testament canon.
Looking at the time of the Millennium, duration about AD 70 to AD 1070, the starting point was the spiritual event of the parousia, as detailed by Russell and Chilton. But secular historians looking back on this period as a whole It marked the Dark Ages. More recently, this ruling by the demonstration of the development and technical progress that has occurred in the Middle and Far East to alleviate these years. But it remains true that was for Western civilization, particularly in Western Europe for these years, this time of unprecedented barbarity and ignorance. During these times, the blood of countless martyrs was invaded late setting of the Roman Empire and the founding of the church. Violence was the order of the day and sugarcoating or pink-tinted glasses are not necessary. The first resurrection was an event of mass destruction and the Kingdom or Millennium was an age of barbarism. In other words, there is not an accident or coincidence that the fulfillment of the prophecies was apocalyptic. I want these ideas again in the later chapters.
Why did not you on Judgement Day AD1070 with the beginning end of the Millennium? Historically, many of the people expect then that the Messiah is to be seen again. I answer, rather than that this is the time when Satan was unbound was his season. Here I have listed some companies with many of the sources in the bibliography. I could be a feudal or an obscurantist be criticized here. However, I do not look back to the Kingdom as much as us on the forthcoming new Jerusalem. At this point I feel the time we reach the nadir of the curve down to hell, immediately before the return of the Messiah.

First look at Norman O. Brown

It is a good possibility that you have never heard of Norman O. Brown heard or come any of his writings. His books are now a generation old and sold out to some extent. Perhaps some of the issues he raised have become obsolete with the passage of time.

If you have to be solved in a position to Brown's puzzles, you will solve simultaneously the mysteries of religion. I say this aware that Brown's scholarship makes this a monumental task.

There is all kinds of it in plain English in Brown, you know, but you can more succeed by circling from the periphery. A good source of print, from the same period is Eric Gutkind's The Body of God: First Steps towards an ANTI-theology. This This book is written in an aphoristic style. Comparing the title of this book with LOVE'S BODY give you a clue for you to start on the path to the solution Brown. View from the philosophical side, Michael Harrington's THE FUNERAL POLICY on God asks penetrating all the right questions. The best book ever written Jesus Constantin Brunner is on our Christ: The Revolt of the Mystical Genius (1921). There is no room for interpretation of Brown. Instead, I will outline a central idea – the importance of the primal scene. For the uninitiated, the primal scene, which had Papa and Mama in the bedroom. "Whom the gods destroy want, they must first make mad "I will some questions about this list to clarify it. At first glance, the view on this by no means exhaustive List, it seems, we have our umbrellas out (or perhaps even a degree in meteorology). The first question is: How many of these sentences have you ever met before to ask? Try to think of where, if anywhere, each of these sets can be found. After thinking it over, you may decide that some are reflected in the literature, perhaps some from the Bible, but many of them come from the media.

No, they are interchangeable in a few cases, but they are linked. What then do the sets have in common? My answer is that all bear a direct relationship to a single sentence:
Mass psychosis
This particular phrase, mass psychosis, you are probably less likely to come across. Mass psychosis is the meaning of the fundamentalist doctrine of the Secret Rapture.
Now I'm sure if you had the opportunity to interview rock star Prince and ask him what he meant with Purple Rain, that he did not immediately answer, "a Code word for mass psychosis. Slightly better is the extreme right wing Protestant view that the TV and movies picture of the devil and rock music is the Devil's Music. This approach has the advantage of accurate, but has increasingly hard have times when dropped all but the diehards capitulated and stepped into the media itself cacophony. But the profit is for us all , If we can come individually or can not have observed. In the meantime, we can perhaps take the opportunity to both the open and study the subtle techniques used.

Another common theme in science fiction is the nomination of candidates (false) messiahs. I say wrong, because we only Watch actors play a fictional role. A real life prototype of this character, when established would not automatically by a Messiah. One example is the MAN FROM PLANET X (1951), the aliens who are caught and earthly needs help.
The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) (note the title) offers another false Messiah. A foreigner is rising, in a saucer, takes the interesting name of Mr. Carpenter, was killed and rose again three days later, etc. In the case of this film were the extensive Analogies on the part of some of the production people were conscious and taken from the novel on which the film is based.
In the brain of PLANET Arous (1958), an alien
has a scientist who goes on a crazy then search the world to govern. It's my all time favorite movie. He has the power to shoot planes from the sky with his eyes while lauging maniacally. THE MAN Flim Flam (1967) a little con artist Living by his wits. CHARLY (1968) is mentally retarded, into a chemically transformed Supermind. In the ruling class (1971), is the candidate of an apparent Psychopaths. The Omega Man (1971), a remake of THE LAST MAN ON EARTH (1964), (note the title) offers another replacement Messiah. In Zardoz (1973), is the Christ figure a barbarian.
SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW (2004) has designated as a Villan a man in his grave German deaths head (Death's Head). He has arranged to create a new Arche Noah built. As so often, that is the secret Villan hero because there actually Sky Captain destroy the Ark!
